NFL quarterback visits Säbener Straße

Following on from Odell Beckham Jr. in the summer of 2016, another NFL player visited FC Bayern on Sunday. Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson watched the training session at Säbener Straße and then met Jérôme Boateng, David Alaba, Javi Martínez and Robert Lewandowski. Watson gave the FCB quartet a brief lesson in the correct throwing technique before taking part in a football target challenge with them. To end with, Watson took on Boateng at FIFA 18 and Madden NFL on the games console. He was also a guest at the Allianz Arena yesterday for the Bundesliga game between Bayern and Hertha BSC.

Training in arctic cold

The sun was shining but the temperatures were well below freezing in Munich on Sunday morning as the Bayern players trained following the home game against Hertha BSC. The substitutes from Saturday as well as Boateng and Joshua Kimmich completed a session lasting around 70 minutes. The other players had a regenerative session in the warmer performance centre and put themselves in the caring hands of the physio department. Coach Jupp Heynckes has given his players two days off on Monday and Tuesday before preparations for the away game at SC Freiburg begin on Wednesday.
