Heynckes: The team turned in a gala display

The Bavarians were very pleased after the 6-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund. "The team turned in an outstanding display over 90 minutes," Jupp Heynckes enthused, after FCB left their perennial rivals without a chance. Mats Hummels looked ahead to the upcoming matches.

Reaction to Bayern v Dortmund

Jupp Heynckes: "It's always difficult to recover your rhythm after an international break, but we did a very good job. Our plan was to win the game because we had to lay down another marker. The team turned in an outstanding display over 90 minutes, they turned in a gala display in the first 45 minutes. We made the most of our tactical and technical dominance."

Thomas Müller: "We got off to a good start. Dortmund pressed a bit but they weren't 100 percent consistent. We had space and exploited it well from the start. If you concede one or two at the Allianz Arena you might be in for a thrashing. We eased off a bit in the second half."

Mats Hummels: "Our focus in the second half was not to give away possession so that we don't have to push ourselves to the limit. We only have three days until the match in Sevilla. We have a very good team, good team spirit and good attitude. But we're far from perfect and know what we have to improve."

Peter Stöger (Borussia Dortmund coach): "We're very disappointed. We completely lacked the fundamental virtues I always mention. We did't put up enough resistance. Bayern exploited nearly every mistake. We're a long, long way off Bayern at the moment."

Marcel Schmelzer (Borussia Dortmund captain): "We had ambitious targets but you could see we didn't show it. We didn't go for the one-on-ones, we were always a step too slow, our opponents always had men over becauce they moved better. They played cat and mouse with us."
