Bayern were in control after the first goal against SC Freiburg and deservedly won the match 4-0. "We turned in an outstanding display in every respect today," a pleased Jupp Heynckes said after the final whistle.

Reaction to Freiburg v Bayern

Jupp Heynckes: "If you consider how Freiburg usually play at home you know it isn't just a very good result. We turned in an outstanding display in every respect today. We pressed very well when necessary. We also retreated to calm the game. We were well-organised, we played top-class football. I'm very pleased with my team today, it was one of our best matches this season. I liked it very much."

Thomas Müller: "There were one or two dangerous situations at the beginning, especially when Ulle made a superb save in a one-on-one. He kept us in the game then. Apart from that we were committed even though it's never easy away to Freiburg. That's football, we worked our way into the game and deservedly won, taken altogether."

Christian Streich (SC Freiburg coach): "We played very well until the opener but weren't precise enough in our vertical play. We made too many technical mistakes. Then a typical Thomas Müller goal, unlucky for us but extremely clever. It's disappointing because we started well. If we had scored the opener the stadium would have been a cauldron, that would have buoyed us. But it isn't possible if you don't play exceptionally well."

Alexander Schwolow (SC Freiburg keeper): "We got off to a very good start. It was an open contest. It's a pity that we didn't take our one chance. And we were unlucky, especially regarding the opener. You feel many things are stacked against you and that Bayern are having a good day then. We gave it everything until the end, but Bayern were just too strong today."
