Hoeneß: "Two companies with values"

As part of the ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Siemens China Industry Day, FC Bayern President Uli Hoeneß spoke on Wednesday evening alongside Lothar Herrmann (CEO Siemens Greater China) on the partnership between FC Bayern and Siemens. The topic of discussion for the panel in front of 300 invited Siemens customers from China was the long, fruitful and constructive work between the two partners as well as current common projects.

“It’s about two companies who stand for values. These values drive the club and the company towards top performances. We’re rooted in the area, but are also prepared to expand,” said Hoeneß of the cooperation with the Munich-based multinational corporation, who has been a “Performance Partner” of FC Bayern since 2001 with just a short hiatus. Siemens, according to the 66-year-old, “played a big part in the construction of the Allianz Arena we now have, which is possibly the nicest and most modern stadium in the world.”

Prior to the talk, the Chinese guests had the chance to experience the work of Siemens Technology at first hand with a tour of the Allianz Arena. Siemens is currently supporting FC Bayern in the digitalisation of the building infrastructure, especially with the quality control of the pitch in the stadium. Keeping the playing surface in peak condition throughout the year is a great challenge and done at considerable cost. With the help of Siemens Technology, the lighting, condition and water needs of the pitch will be digitally monitored and the Allianz Arena head groundsman will receive guidance via an app.
