The world finals of the FC Bayern Youth Cup 2018 are coming up. A total of ten teams meet at the Allianz Arena on Sunday playing each other to determine the winner. The teams from all over the world arrived in Munich on Thursday and are now preparing for the big final tournament at the Bayern stadium. In addition to the titleholders from Thailand and the hosts from Germany, the other qualifiers come from India, China, Singapore, Colombia, Nigeria, Poland and the USA. There is also a team taking part made up of former Kids Club members.
FC Bayern youth team coaches are leading training sessions to help prepare the sides for the forthcoming challenges. That is not all that youngsters from all over the world can look forward to as there is an exciting range of activities in and around the world finals: That includes the teams watching the former and new champions of Germany take on VfB Stuttgart in the final Bundesliga game of the season. There will also be a meet & greet session with players from the record champions. Other exciting opportunities available include a sightseeing tour of Munich and an EA Sports FIFA 18 tournament.
Seventh year of international tournament
The highlight takes place on Sunday: the world final of the tournament at the Allianz Arena. All ten teams face each other first and the best four teams will then play in the semi-finals to determine the finalists.
The FC Bayern Youth Cup is an international tournament for U17 teams on reduced sized pitches that has been held annually since 2012. Qualifying tournaments are held in different countries with ten players selected to head to the finals in Munich as a national side. Over 6,500 players take part worldwide.
