FC Bayern have retained another promising talent over the long-term. U19 player Daniels Ontuzans (18) signed a new three-year contract to 30 June 2021 in the presence of sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. “Daniels has very good potential. We’re convinced he can take the next step towards the senior squad here with us,” said Salihamidzic.
In the view of campus director Jochen Sauer, Ontuzans is “a great prospect who can continue to strengthen our youth team. So we are happy he’s committed to FC Bayern over the long term.”
Ontuzans started playing for the record champions in the U11s and is a true home-grown talent. He has had problems with injuries recently and was only able to make four appearances in the U19 Bundesliga last term. “I’m very happy about the confidence in me to carry on playing in an FC Bayern shirt,” said the Latvian youngster.
