Kimmich named Player of the Month for May

A goal in the Champions League semi-final return away to Real Madrid, and the assist for Robert Lewandowski’s strike against Eintracht Frankfurt in the cup final – in May, Joshua Kimmich again demonstrated his reliability and skill down the right flank in the big games. The 23-year-old, already regarded as Germany’s best in his position, played every minute of every game for FCB in May, confirming his status as one of the club’s most consistent contributors across the season.

You the Bayern fans have recognised Kimmich’s superb performances and voted him Player of the Month for May, the third time in 2017/18 that Joshua has topped the poll. A previous winner in September and October, the Germany regular has drawn level with Sven Ulreich, who was also Player of the Month three times.

In May’s vote, 26 percent of you voted for Kimmich, who finished top of the poll by a narrow margin from James Rodríguez (24%). Third spot went to Franck Ribéry (13%).
