Bayern's 3-1 victory over Hoffenheim meant the refurbished Allianz Arena had a successful competitive debut on Friday evening. More than 70,000 Bayern fans were impressed by the red seats, the FCB lettering in the stands and the graffiti artwork referring to the club's history. Fans who were unable to be at the stadium but still want to have a look at the German record champions' refurbished home can do so with their smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.
Google Street View's Special Collect team has captured the Allianz Arena's interior, the FC Bayern Erlebniswelt and the Promenade with different cameras in 360-degree images. The result can now be examined in the form of a virtual tour on fcbayern.com, in the FC Bayern app and on Google Maps. "The refurbishment of the Allianz Arena was a great project that we're proud of, so we're delighted fans from all over the globe can now share in," said FC Bayern Director of Media, Digital and CommunicationStefan Mennerich.
