FC Bayern had a string of chances in the 1-1 draw against FC Augsburg but conceded a late equaliser. "We often failed to find solutions, but we had enough chances to close it out earlier," analysed Arjen Robben. "Augsburg did a very, very good job over 90 minutes," said Niko Kovac, who was full of respect for Augsburg's bold display.
Reaction to Bayern v Augsburg
Niko Kovac: "Augsburg did a very, very good job over 90 minutes. They stifled our build-up play. It wasn't easy to get out of our own half. When we did we failed to convert our chances into goals. Then it's always very tight in the Bundesliga. We'd have liked to take three points but unfortunately failed. We'll try to do better away to Berlin."
Arjen Robben: "My goal doesn't count. If you're one in front you must win then match, it must be the decision. Augsburg turned in a superb display with lots of courage and rewarded themselves. The equaliser wasn't completely undeserved, we didn't do a good job. We should have been more patient and created better chances. We often failed to find solutions, but we had enough chances to close it out earlier."
Niklas Süle: "We struggled to get a grip on the match, Augsburg had a good plan. We shouldn't have conceded a goal from a set-piece in the second half. We should have converted one of our many chances earlier. We have to blame ourselves for that."
Manuel Baum (FC Augsburg coach): "We're very happy we've taken a point at the Allianz Arena. You need a passionate and committed team display and luck to achieve it, and we had both today. We return very happy."
Felix Götze (FC Augsburg): "It's incredible. We knew it was possible to take something away, and that we had to give it 110 percent. We had ambitious goals and achieved them. It was clear we wouldn't have much possession, but we waited for counter-attacks. We're very satisfied."
