Corentin Tolisso sustained a serious injury in Bayern's home Bundesliga encounter with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, the Munich club's medical unit ascertained following an examination after the game. The French World Cup winner ruptured a cruciate ligament and the medial meniscus in his right knee and will undergo surgery on Sunday. The midfielder will be sidelined for several months.
Rafinha will also be out of action for several weeks. The Brazilian full-back was the victim of a brutal Karim Bellarabi tackle, for which the Leverkusen striker was shown a straight red card, and has suffered a partial tear of the ligaments in his left ankle. Rafinha was substitured after 83 minutes of the 3-1 victory over Bayer, with Tolisso hobbling off three minutes before half-time.
