Renato Sanches and Portugal continued their winning streak on Sunday evening. Their 3-1 win over Scotland was their third consecutive victory. Sanches came on as a sub after 55 minutes and made an immediate impact on the match. After 73 minutes the 21-year-old whipped a free-kick into Scotland's box, Eder heading home to make it 2-0. Helder Costa had put the reigning European champions in front shortly before half-time. Leipzig's Bruma netted Portugal's third with five minutes to go, Steven Naismith scoring a consolation goal for the Scots in injury time.
Poland relegated to League B
Italy's late winner against Robert Lewandowski and his team-mates saw Poland relegated to League B of the UEFA Nations League. Cristiano Biraghi scored the match-winner in injury time in Italy's 1-0 victory in Chorzow. Poland are on one point after three matches, three behind the Squadra Azzurra in Group A3. The defeat means Poland will finish bottom. Portugal top the table on six points. Italy were dominant for long spells, hitting the crossbar twice in the first half.
