Bayern frontman Robert Lewandowski is looking back on his international career to date with pride ahead of his 100th appearance for Poland. "I never dreamed of playing so many games for the team and becoming Poland's all-time top goalscorer," said the striker in the build-up to Thursday's Nations League match against Portugal in Chorzow. Lewandowski has registered 55 goals in 99 appearances as well as 18 assists since making his debut on 10 September 2008. The 30-year-old is also the team's captain.
Boateng back in full training
Jérôme Boateng, meanwhile, is on the verge of his 76th appearance in a Germany shirt. The centre-back, who missed Bayern's match against Borussia Mönchengladbach last weekend due to illness, was able to take full part in the Germany squad's training session on Wednesday. "His blood count is good and he completed everything today," revealed assistant coach Markus Sorg. They will now wait to see "how he copes with training", but Sorg expects Boateng to be fit for Saturday's Nations League clash with the Netherlands.
