It's around two and a half months since Kingsley Coman tore the syndesmosis ligament above his left ankle during the Bundesliga opener against 1899 Hoffenheim. The 22-year-old winger took the next step on the road to recovery this week as he trained outdoors for the first time on Tuesday morning, completing a short session in the sandpit.
The France international has been working hard on his comeback in recent weeks. Under the constant guidance of rehabilitation coach Thomas Wilhelmi, Coman has been undertaking an extensive strength, stamina and coordination programme as well as specific strengthening exercises for the injured ankle, which was operated on at the end of August. As the next step, Coman is set to start light jogging on the pitch on Wednesday.
