FC Bayern (all subsidiaries included) and the FC Bayern München AG group had a successful 2017/18 fiscal year, and so did the members' club, FC Bayern München eV. The club once again announced impressive numbers for the 2017/18 fiscal year but also looked back on numerous titles and successes in sport. The officials received deserved applause at Friday evening's Annual General Meeting at the Audi Dome.
Deputy vice-president Prof Dr Dieter Mayer announced a surplus of almost €11 million, specifically €10,860,800 (previous year: €12 million). The equity capital rose from €104,320,757 to €115,181,557, with an equity ratio of 76 percent. "It's an outstanding result, we can be very pleased with it," said Mayer. The figure of 291,000 members compared to last year's 290,000 confirms FC Bayern's status as the world's biggest sports club.
As usual the club's main sources of revneue were membership dues (€12,210,425) and a dividend payout of €12,375,000 by FC Bayern München AG. Anpther source of income was added: lease income for the parts of the FC Bayern Campus (including the club house, the pitch and the academy) used by FC Bayern München AG in the amount of €1,980,000.
Basketballers seal the double
According to Meyer, the repayment of the loan of €40 million is going well. Thanks to several unscheduled repayments, "it is realistically foreseeable the Campus will be completely debt-free in three years at the latest." In light of the liquid assets and the "outstandingly positive development in terms of membership," Mayer looked ahead "confidently throughout. I think our club will be thriving in the years to come too."
Mayer called the basketballers' successes last season "outstanding." FCBB won the double of championship title and cup for the first time and only fell to eventual winners Darüssafaka Istanbul in the EuroCup semi-finals. "We can all be proud of our basketball team," stressed Mayer, who also called the basketball group's financial development "more than satisfying" in the light of liquidity of more then €3 million: "The Basketball GmbH is based on an absolutely healthy foundation."

Successful amateur sections
Deputy vice-president Walter Mennekes subsequently reported on FC Bayern's amateur sections (referees, veterans' football, sports skittles, table tennis, handball, chess). "Sport isn't only about that one daughter, beauty queen football, it has many lovely daughters, at our FC Bayern too," said Mennekes, who was pleased with the basketball youth section and the veterans' football section's successes. There was more good news from the chess, the sports skittles, the table tennis and the handball sections. FC Bayern München eV looks back on a very successful 2017/18 fiscal year.
