Fans meet Schweinsteiger in Atlanta

On 22 October, around 100 members of the FC Bayern fan club “Mia san Atlanta” had the chance to meet former FCB player Bastian Schweinsteiger at a meet and greet in the Georgia capital. The midfielder took time for selfies, autographs and short interviews when he and his Chicago Fire side were in Atlanta.

Partnership between University of Denver and FC Bayern

On 16 October, FC Bayern announced their cooperation with the University of Denver. FC Bayern executive board member Jörg Wacker took part in the event in Denver alongside Rudolf Vidal, head of the FC Bayern New York office. The partnership includes an exchange of coaches and players, and access to the sporting facilities of the university. It also involves a cultural exchange with students and a joint research project looking at sport and nutrition.

Scholarships for Tongji University

On 30 October, the recipients of the scholarships for the third year of the cooperation between FC Bayern and Tongji University were announced. Mr Xinghui Lei, vice president of Tongji University, and Rouven Kasper, head of FC Bayern’s Shanghai office, took part in the event, which took place as part of the “China Youth Music Competition”. The aim of the partnership is to promote social dialogue between China and Germany. Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge visited Tongji University in 2017 during the Audi Summer Tour.

Coaches in China and Japan

From 12 to 29 October, more than 50 local sports instructors and coaches received theory and practical training from our international coaches Christopher Loch and Matthias Brosamer at the FC Bayern Football School in Qingdao. At the end of the stay there were also theory and practical sessions with members of the FC Bayern fan club in Qingdao. To top it all off, the fan club participants were able to show off their footballing abilities in a tournament.

Local youth teams in Japan also got the chance to train with a Bayern coach at the FC Bayern Football School in Tsuneishi from 15 to 25 October. Over the course of 10 days, boys and girls had fun and learnt a lot under the instruction of Antonio Vatany.

Activities in Thailand

The Bundesliga Meisterschale and Berni were both hard at work in Thailand. Firstly, at an event for employees at regional partner Wangkanai, and then at the Oktoberfest at the German-Thai Chamber of Foreign Trade in Bangkok. Guests had the chance to experience Bavarian authenticity at first hand in the Thai capital. As well as a Bavarian live band, Paulaner beer and the traditional tapping of the barrel, there was a substantial Bavarian buffet. Häfele, FC Bayern’s regional partner, was also represented, and visitors could take photos with life-size replicas of their FCB idols at the official Häfele stand.
