Bayern's upcoming Champions League opponents AEK Athens were held to a goalless draw by local rivals Panathinaikos. "It was our worst performance this season," coach Marinos Ouzounidis said after the match: "We have to improve 100 percent in Munich, otherwise we won't have a chance," added the 50-year-old. AEK dropped to fourth place in the Greek Super League. They now have 17 points, six short of leaders PAOK.

Slovenian match officials
Matej Jug and his Slovenian compatriots will oversee Wednesday's clash. The 38-year-old takes charge of his first Champions League match this season. He has been refereeing in Europe's elite club competition since the 2013/14 season, having ten CL matches to his name. The match against AEK will be his first one involving FC Bayern.
