FC Bayern beat FC Nürnberg 3-0 on Saturday, putting an end to their barren run of four Bundesliga home matches without a victory. "I'm satisfied with the performance. It was important to keep a clean sheet," Niko Kovac said in praise of his team.
Reaction to Bayern v Nürnberg
Niko Kovac: "We allowed them hardly anything over 90 minutes today. We created a lot of chances. It was important to keep a clean sheet, not to squander the lead and hurt our confidence by conceding goals. Positive results are always important. We've won our last three matches, and I'm satisfied with the way we did."
Joshua Kimmich: "I haven't seen a season like this before. We were lagging a bit last season but the gap is bigger this term. Dortmund won again today. So the season is really exciting because we aren't on an upward trend all the time. We're in a different situation now, and we'll see if we have the right character in the team."
Michael Köllner (FC Nürnberg coach): "You can't be satisfied after losing 3-0. But we defended very well for long spells today, we hadn't succeeded at that in our away matches. However, it's not nice to go home with no points of course. We showed too much respect, we should have been more physical. Then again, Bayern are quick, it isn't so easy to involve them in one-on-ones, and then these things happen."
Georg Margreiter (FC Nürnberg): "We wanted to make life as difficult as possible for them. We've struggled away to big-name opponents and been thrashed before. We didn't let that happen today, but it still hurts to lose 3-0. We're realistic enough to know it's very difficult for promoted sides to take something away from Munich. But we were too timid, especially in the first half, we should have involved them in more one-on-ones, we should have been tougher in defence."
