It is nearly impossible to surpass Johan Cruyff, but Arjen Robben has achieved it in terms of domestic championship titles. When FCB's number 10 sealed the title with Bayern on Matchday 29 he wrapped up his 11th domestic championship title. Robben is now ahead of Cruyff, who hoisted 10 trophies. Robben is pleased he has surpassed the three-time European Footballer of the Year: "Usually I'm not a fan of statistics, but Johan Cruyff is rightly considered the greatest footballer in Dutch history. If you surpass him in terms of titles it's something very special, I'm really proud of it."
The 34-year-old clinched his first championship title at PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands before winning two Premier League titles with Chelsea. He won the Spanish title with Real Madrid in 2008, but the winger has won the bulk of his silverware with the German record champions. Robben has hoisted the championship shield seven times since joining Bayern in the summer of 2009. Time will tell how many championship titles he will still win. At FC Bayern his chances are high.
