Bayern commence fine-tuning for restart
Niko Kovac wanted everything to be perfect. The Bayern coach gave instructions, motivated the players, made individual corrections and repeatedly interrupted the action to give feedback until all moves went well.
The 47-year-old used Tuesday morning's 90-minute training session mainly for tactical fine-tuning for the Bundesliga reopener against TSG Hoffenheim on Friday at 20.30 CET. After fitness and weight training in the performance centre and some running and passing drills on the training ground, the Bayern pros played a full-pitch 11 against 11 match to work on the movement of the lines.
Looking forward to Friday
Bayern worked up a sweat in temperatured of almost 30 degrees under the desert sun in Doha as recently as five days ago, but the cold and damp conditions in Munich were not a problem. "We knew what to expect," Thomas Müller said on behalf of his team-mates, who have all acclimatised. "We're used to playing in colder temperatures, and we're just looking forward to Friday's match," added the 29-year-old.
