Monday is the rest day this week at FC Bayern. But two of the Munich men did not bat an eyelid at being on the training ground even in the freezing cold at Säbener Straße: Franck Ribéry (torn muscle) and Arjen Robben (thigh injury) did not take up the option of a day off at the start of the week but instead continued working hard on their comebacks. While the Frenchman completed circuits on the pitch, Robben trained one-to-one with Dr. Holger Broich with a range of running and passing drills with lots of changes of tempo.

Following the strenuous preparations for the second half of the season and the successful opening fixture with last Friday’s 3-1 win away to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, coach Niko Kovac gave the rest of the squad two days off before the record champions start this week’s training on Tuesday with an open session (live on fcbayern.com from 11.30).
