Niko Kovac had to make do without a number of players when the German record champions took up preparations for Saturday's encounter with Borussia Mönchengladbach on Tuesday morning. Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich and Mats Hummels missed the session with colds, whereas Robert Lewandowski and Franck Ribéry were sidelined with gastroenteritis. Thiago and Goretzka watched their workload, working individually in the performance centre.
Six youth players joined the small group, and the Bavarians hit the gas for the duel between the pursuers on Saturday evening. After completing passing drills and match situations with men over, the players contested a practice match to round off the 90-minute session. At the same time convalescent duo Arjen Robben and Corentin Tolisso continued their individual programmes on an adjacent pitch.
