After a day off the Säbener Strasse was a hive of bustle and activity on Tuesday morning. The German record champions took up preparations for Friday's Bundesliga match away to FC Augsburg in temperatures just above freezing.

Coach Niko Kovac had the bulk of the squad at his disposal three days before the encounter with the side lying 15th in the table. Besides convalescent Corentin Tolisso, who is continuing his rehab following his cruciate ligament rupture, Arjen Robben, Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski missed the session. Manuel Neuer was back on the training pitch, but the netminder has yet to resume goalkeeping-specific training.

The Bavarians aim to fine-tune their performance levels in two further sessions on Wednesday and Thursday before the match against Augsburg, which is a dress rehearsal for next Tuesday's Champions League last sixteen first leg away to Liverpool.
