FC Bayern can in all probability plan for their next Bundesliga match at FC Augsburg on Friday evening with goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. The FCB captain has been suffering of late with an injury to his right hand but took part in goalkeeping training again for the first time on Wednesday and is in with a chance of standing between the posts in the coming Bavarian derby.
“He’s got no complaints so he’s an option for Friday’s game,” coach Niko Kovac announced after training on Wednesday, without stating whether the 32-year-old would actually feature four days before the UEFA Champions League clash at Liverpool.
“We’re always discussing things. The games he’s missed were entirely his decision. The player always has the final word, and in this case Manu’s ready,” Kovac stressed.
As well as Neuer, Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski we’re also both back in team training after they’d missed the previous day. Arjen Robben was a further absentee alongside Corentin Tolisso, who took the next step in his recovery on Wednesday by training with the ball for the first time again.
