Coman and Gnabry fire Bayern to victory

Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman were centre stage again the day after the win at Fortuna Düsseldorf. On the first day of the Easter holidays, around 1,500 FC Bayern supporters made their way to Säbener Straße on Monday morning to watch the record champions at an open training session. Ahead of training, the FCB pros took time out for the fans, signing autographs and posing for selfies. The duo of Gnabry and Coman were definitely amongst the favourites for the FCB faithful.

20 hours earlier, the two wingers for the Reds played a big part in securing the convincing 4-1 win in front of a sell-out crowd at the Düsseldorf Arena that puts FC Bayern top of the table again and on course for the title with five games to go. Coman set the course for victory with the two opening goals and Gnabry wrapped up the game against the Rhinelanders when he made it 3-0.

Gnabry on a run, Coman on a record

Being involved in a total of 14 goals (nine goals, five assists) this season, Gnabry is the second best FCB player behind Robert Lewandowski (28). In the remaining games he could even exceed his personal best (15) from the 2017/18 season. The 23-year-old has been involved in seven goals in the last five games. In addition to scoring four, he has also provided three assists including Coman's opener against Fortuna.

Kingsley Coman's record is equally impressive. Although the Frenchman missed almost the whole of the first half of the season with a torn ankle ligament, he has already scored five goals this term – representing a new personal best. He netted his second brace of the season against Düsseldorf. The 22-year-old had five shots on the Fortuna goal with four of them coming in the first half. In addition to his two goals, he also hit the post.

Coman is increasingly becoming a guaranteed matchwinner for FC Bayern. Indeed FCB have won all eleven Bundesliga fixtures where the pacey winger has scored. The France international comes with a title guarantee: Since making his professional debut in 2012/13, Coman has at least won the national league title every season – with PSG, Juventus and FCB. Hopefully that run will continue this season.
