At the invitation and on the initiative of Allianz, FC Bayern will close the current season on a high with a trip to Beijing on 29 May 2019, 11 days after the final Bundesliga matchday. There they will play the Chinese national team in the "Allianz China Cup" at Beijing National Stadium.
It will be the German record champions’ fourth visit to China, one of the key markets in the club’s internationalisation strategy. FC Bayern have visited Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Beijing in recent years as part of their summer tours. The Munich club has also had a permanent presence in the country since 2016 with its own Chinese office and the FC Bayern Football School in Qingdao, while two further Football Schools have opened in Shenzhen and Taiyuan.
The match on 29 May for the "Allianz China Cup" has been arranged through the cooperation between Allianz, FC Bayern and the Chinese Football Association. In addition, as part of a China Week organised by FC Bayern and Allianz in Munich in the autumn of this year, an intensive German-Chinese exchange will focus on topics such as sports, health and innovation.
“Allianz and FC Bayern are linked by long-standing collaboration on an international level," said FC Bayern München AG chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “Our club has been active in China for many years and supports the development of football there through numerous initiatives. We very much welcome the commitment of our partner Allianz and are pleased that together, we can support the continued footballing exchange between Germany and China.”
Allianz SE CEO Oliver Bäte said: “Allianz is delighted to be able to make a small contribution to the German-Chinese football friendship. It fills us with pride that we can facilitate a friendly between the Chinese national team and FC Bayern at Beijing National Stadium.”
