A fan favourite says farewell. Franck Ribéry will not be renewing his contract, which runs until 30 June and, like Arjen Robben will leave FC Bayern in the summer. "When I came to Bayern, it was a dream come true. It won't be easy to say goodbye, but we must never forget what we've achieved together," enthused Ribéry, "we've won so much together - more than 20 honours."
FC Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "Franck and Arjen are great players. FC Bayern owes a lot to both of them and we will give them a wonderful and emotional farewell. They've helped shape FC Bayern's most successful decade with fantastic football." Robben had already announced at the end of 2018 that he would be leaving FC Bayern this summer.
There will be a major farewell and testimonial match for both players in 2020.
