FC Bayern open at home to Hertha

The German Football League (DFL) released the fixture schedule for the 2019/20 Bundesliga campaign on Friday, so Bayern know when mission title defence kicks off. The season gets going at 20.30 CEST on Friday 16 August, when Bayern entertain Hertha Berlin. The German record champions travel to face Schalke on Matchday 2 (23 to 25 August).

FCB start the Oktoberfest period (21 September to 6 October) with a home match against FC Köln (20 to 23 September) before going on the road to face Paderborn (27 to 29 September) and welcoming Hoffenheim to the Allianz Arena (4 to 6 October). The top clashes against Borussia Dortmund will be staged on Matchdays 11 and 28. Munich entertain Wolfsburg (20 to 22 December) before the winter break and travel to face Hertha (17 to 20 January) in the first Bundesliga match in 2020. Bayern will be hoping to get their hands on the championship shield once again after the last match away to Wolfsburg at 15.30 on 16 May 2020.

The entire schedule will be published soon on fcbayern.com. The precise timing for the matches will be decided over the course of the season and is largely dependent on Champions League and Europa League fixtures. The DFL will announce the exact schedule for the first few matches in the upcoming weeks.
