Bayern's Germany internationals began their well-deserved summer holiday on Wednesday, and Joshua Kimmich in particular will be glad of the break. The 24-year-old was almost ever-present last season, featuring in 48 of the record champions' 49 games in all competitions and playing 4,281 of a possible 4,350 minutes. The only match he had to sit out was the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie against Liverpool due to suspension. Kimmich also completed the full 90 minutes in all 10 of Germany's fixtures.

FC Bayern named 'Superbrand Germany'

Bayern received a great accolade on Wednesday evening as they were named 'Superbrand Germany 2018/19' at the historic Meistersaal in Berlin, recognising the record champions as one of the strongest brands in Germany. The title was awarded by global brand valutation organisation Superbrands, who have been honouring the best and strongest brands in 88 different countries for 25 years. Bayern are the only German club to have ever received the award, having also been listed among the 'Superbrands Germany' in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2014 and 2016.
