After 14 years in Europe, FC Bayern pro Rafinha is set to return home to Brazil to continue his career. The 33-year old full-back will play for Flamengo Rio de Janeiro next season. That was announced on Whit Monday by Rafinha, whose contract with the German record champions runs out on 30 June, and the five-time Brazilian champions with Rafinha agreeing a two-year deal with the side fifth in the table.
Rafinha joined FC Schalke 04 from FC Coritiba in 2005 and went on to make 153 appearances for the Royal Blues in five years. He signed the FC Bayern after a 12-month loan in Serie A at CFC Genoa. At FC Bayern, Rafinha won 18 trophies including seven league titles, four DFB Cups, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup. No other non-European player has won more German league titles than Rafinha.
