
NASA visit, fan BBQ and hunting for autographs
'On the seventh day thou shalt rest:' That does not apply to FC Bayern these days. Only 12 hours after the prestige clash with Real Madrid, the Bavarians worked up a sweat at the campus of the University of Houston, both because of temperatures exceeding 30 degrees centigrade combined with high humidity and the session Niko Kovac had prepared for them.

Bayern delegation at NASA
On Sunday morning chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge led a delegation with board member Jörg Wacker, New York office manager Rudi Vidal, vice presidents Prof Dr Dieter Mayer and Walter Mennekes as well as legend Lothar Matthäus. Thiago and Javi Martínez made an extra tour a little later. They learned about details of the moon landing on 20 July 1969 at Houston's Johnson Space Center.
Neuer & Co. thrill fans at mall
The queues at the Telekom and the adidas shop at Houston's mall were very long hours before the players arrived. The fans were delighted when Joshua Kimmich, Sven Ulreich (both Telekom) and Manuel Neuer, Benjamin Pavard and Thomas Müller (all adidas) appeared and took their time for autographs and photos. One autograph hunter was so euphoric that he forgot his buggy and child when leaving the shop, hastening back.
Paulaner BBQ
Paulaner invited Bayern fans to a BBQ in the afternoon, the motto being "Bavarian Tradition meets US Tradition." Niklas Süle and Bayern legend Giovane Elber were on site, grilling and tasting the food. Stadium announcer Stephan Lehmann additionally fuelled the atmosphere.
