The first International Champions Cup match at Dignity Health Sports Park was the centre of attention on day three of the Audi Summer Tour. The Bavarians focused on set pieces and turnovers in the training session on Wednesday morning. In the evening Bayern took on Arsenal at the stadium of MLS club LA Galaxy and slipped to a last-gasp defeat. fcbayern.com summarises the third day.

Big fan party around the stadium

Tailgate parties – barbeques in the parking lots at the stadium – have a long tradition in the United States, and of course a party was staged before the duel with the Gunners. Beisdes numerous Bayern fans, FCB Legends Lothar Matthäus, Giovane Elber and Raimond Aumann as well as stadium announcer Stephan Lehmann were on site for a good atmosphere and posed for countless photos.

Photos with Legends and the championship shield

Matthäus & Co. then headed to the FCB pavilion at the fanzone. The fans could not only get photos taken with the legends but also pose with the championship shield. Hardly anyone missed out on the chance, which resulted in a lengthy queue.

Five years of FCB in the US

FC Bayern were the first European top club to establish an overseas presence when they opened their international office in New York five years ago. The office has been a success story since then, in no small part due to shareholder and main partner adidas. To mark the occasion, FCB officials including board member Jörg Wacker and Rudolf Vidal, managing director of US subsidiary FC Bayern Muenchen LLC, met with sponsors and leaders from the worlds of business, politics and media at the adidas office in Los Angeles to reflect on the past five years and talk about future prospects.
