As in every year, the USA magazine Forbes has published a list of the most valuable sports teams in the world. FC Bayern, with a value of $3.02 billion, are in fourth place of all football clubs behind Real Madrid (4.24) FC Barcelona (4.02) and Manchester United (3.81). FCB are 17th in the overall ranking and, at the same time, the only German club in the top 50.
The Forbes List does not look at wealth but at the value of a club that can, for example, be made up of the value of the players plus sponsorship income or the value of the stadium.
USA teams dominate the rankings with 42 of the top 50 clubs coming from the National Football League (NFL/26), the Major League Baseball (MLB/9) and the National Basketball Association (NBA/7). As in the last three years, the Dallas Cowboys ($5 billion) topped the rankings.
