On Monday, Lucas Hernández was officially presented as an FC Bayern player. The following day the 2018 World Cup winner took to the training pitches at Säbener Straße for the first time. Three months after Hernández underwent an operation on his right knee, the 23-year-old defender began running again. The France international completed laps for half an hour before returning to the performance centre to continue his personal rehabilitation programme.
“The tendon feels very good, I feel very good. I’m continuing to take small steps and hope the medical department will soon give the green light that I can start the Bundesliga season at a top level,” Hernández had stated at his unveiling at the Allianz Arena on Monday.
