Following the intensive athletic session in the morning, the focus shifted more towards the ball in Wednesday afternoon's second shift. In addition to various passing exercises, the emphasis of the training session was on various forms of gameplay, playing two-on-two, three-on-three and four-on-five on pegged-out pitches. Quick reactions and high tempo passing were the order of the day, along with multiple tackling, making the session no less intensive than the morning's had been.
Reunion with Philipp Lahm
FC Bayern welcomed a distinguished visitor to the closed session in the afternoon. Ex captain Philipp Lahm made a flying visit to see his old teammates and watched the entire training programme with interest. The former Reds pro, who lives in Rottach-Egern not far from the training ground met up not only with lots of former teammates, but also long-time companions from the team behind the team such as fitness coaches, doctors, physiotherapists and the kit men and women.
Fitted out for photo shoot
But there wasn't much time to relax between the two training sessions for the pros of the record champions. With the new season approaching, everyone was fitted out at the team hotel by FC Bayern partner Hugo Boss. Players, coaches and support staff were all provided with the official club suits for the 2019/20 season. In addition, some players posed at the photo shoot for the new Hugo Boss campaign.
