On Friday, Fritz Keller was voted the new president of the German FA at the DFB’s National Conference. FC Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said, “I’d like to congratulate Fritz Keller and the DFB on behalf of FC Bayern. Fritz Keller is in my eyes the perfect person for the office of DFB president. He’s proven his ability over many years as CEO and president of SC Freiburg, as well as being a successful businessman. And above all, he’s an outstanding person. I wish him all the best and look forward to working closely with him.”
Keller, who is the godson of the legendary Fritz Walter, has been with Freiburg since 1994 and became the club’s CEO in 2010. In 2014 he was named the club’s president. The owner of hotels and vineyards, he succeeds Reinhard Grindel in the position.
