Kürsad Bostan (41), director of merchandising and licensing, is leaving FC Bayern after 22 years. He’s headed the department since 2005 after working in various positions in it for eight years.
“I look back on exciting and unforgettable years – and now it’s time to take a new direction,” said Bostan. “After a break with my family which I’m very much looking forward to, I want to take on new challenges. I’d like to thank FC Bayern for an incredible time in which I have been able to experience a lot and make progress.”
Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge thanked Bostan on behalf of FC Bayern: “Kürsad Bostan successfully established and expanded a department at FC Bayern that has become ever more important over the years. He has brought FC Bayern’s marketing of fan merchandise to an international top level thanks to his outstanding work. Today FC Bayern is among the pioneering clubs in this field too. On behalf of FC Bayern I wish Mr Bostan all the best for the future.”
President and chairman of the supervisory board Uli Hoeneß, once a pioneer in merchandising, remembers well “how hard the lad worked when he helped to build this department. He learned everything from scratch here and had a dream career at FC Bayern. Thanks to his dedication we achieved an annual turnover of up to €100 million. We owe him a lot – in his department he made a substantial contribution to FC Bayern’s development.”
