Spain secured their fifth win in their fifth Euro 2020 qualifier on Thursday. Thiago Alcántara did not make an appearance in the 2-1 victory over Romania in Bucharest. Sergio Ramos put the Iberians in front from the penalty spot before the half-hour, Paco Alcácer doubling the lead after the restart. Florin Andone pulled one back for the home side, who enjoyed a numerical advantage after defender Diego Llorente was sent off with ten minutes to go. Thiago was called up for La Furia Roja for the first time since October 2018 but failed to get off the bench. Spain take on the Faroe Islands in their second qualifier in the first international break of the season on Sunday.
