Hoeneß: "The right choice"
Fritz Keller was officially named as the new president of the German FA at the DFB’s National Conference in Frankfurt on Friday. FC Bayern president and Supervisory Board chairman Uli Hoeneß said, “I’d like to congratulate Fritz Keller on the unanimous decision. I’m convinced Fritz Keller is the right choice as DFB president. I’ll always support him.”
The former CEO and president of SC Freiburg was nominated for the role in August and quickly received the approval of the council and ran unopposed. The Freiburg native succeeds Reinhard Grindel and becomes the 13th president of the single largest sports federation in the world.
