FC Bayern München AG has agreed a contract extension with Rouven Kasper (37), CEO of the club’s China subsidiary FC Bayern Munich (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and future Asia president, by a further three years to 30 June 2023. Rouven Kasper has been head of the FC Bayern office in Shanghai with great success since it opened in the summer of 2016.
During this period, the dialogue with Chinese FC Bayern fans has been significantly intensified and a large number of new strategic partnerships have been concluded. In addition, media partnerships have also been set up and two institutional and five sponsorship partnerships established.
FC Bayern Munich (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is looking to continue to build on the strong foundations and also, in the future, additionally focus on other countries in Asia.
"In Rouven Kasper we have an absolute specialist heading our team in Shanghai and he has performed outstanding work for more than three years," said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, FC Bayern München AG chairman and CEO.
Jörg Wacker, board member with responsibility for internationalisation and strategy, said: "We are happy that this successful partnership will continue and now even be extended. With the expansion in Asia we want to work in other strategically relevant countries, draw our Asian fans even closer to FC Bayern and win additional strategic partners."
"I'd like to thank the FC Bayern München AG executive board for the confidence shown in me," said Rouven Kasper. "I'm looking forward to the new challenge and I'm convinced that we’ll be able to extend the FC Bayern brand to other countries in Asia, bring our fans even closer to the club and offer our partners added value.
