A first at the FC Bayern Football School Addis Ababa

Two FC Bayern coaches travelled to Ethiopia in the middle of September to hold the first official FC Bayern coaching courses in Addis Ababa. Over the course of two weeks, coaches from all over Ethiopia plus international players received thorough training and education. In addition to lessons on theory in the classroom, there were a large number of practical workshops plus training drills on the pitch. Everything was done with the aim of achieving the best possible communication of the successful youth philosophy and methods of the German record champions.

The participants enjoyed a special experience in the second week when they were able to learn from a 1990 World Cup winner and absolute FC Bayern legend: Hans Pflügler made the long journey to Ethiopia to support the coaching course. There will be further courses and exchanges in the coming months.

Two FCB coaches flew out to Taiyuan at the start of September to hold the first coaching courses in the capital of the Chinese province of Shanxi. The laying of the foundation stone for the third FC Bayern Football School in China back in June of this year has now been followed by the next step in the establishment of sport in the area.

In South Korea at the end of September, in tandem with the Korean Football Association, who we have a youth partnership with since the start of the year, several football camps were held under the direction of our experienced coaches. We are looking forward to welcoming the top talents from the camps to Munich this year.

Coaches from Singapore visit Munich

Two coaches from Sport Singapore (SportSG), the official youth football partner of FC Bayern, visited Munich from 9 to 22 September. After an FC Bayern coach was working in Singapore in June for a month, the sustainable training and development of SportSG coaches is now being progressed based on the FC Bayern philosophy and methods. In addition to daily courses and meetings, the two coaches were also involved in youth training sessions and games at the FC Bayern Campus. Highlights of the programme were meetings with Tom Starke and Miroslav Klose.

The two coaches from the south-east Asian island state will no doubt cherish memories of watching the Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade and the Bundesliga home game against FC Köln.
