Thiago and Spain secure EURO place

Spain have qualified for EURO 2020 with time to spare thanks to a 1-1 draw against Sweden on Tuesday evening. Markus Berg had put the hosts in front in Stockholm but a last-minute equaliser from Rodrigo earned La Roja a point, which was enough to book their ticket for next summer's tournament. Bayern midfielder Thiago started the match and was subbed off in the 66th minute.

Davies scores in victory over USA

Davies was also successful with the Canadian national team overnight. Canada beat neighbours USA 2-0 in Toronto in the CONCACAF Nations League, with Bayern's Davies netting the opening goal in the 63rd minute before Lucas Cavallini made sure of the result in added time. With three wins out of three, the Canadians have cemented their lead at the top of Group A.
