Manuel Neuer stands in the dressing room entrance after FC Bayern's stunning 7-2 win at Tottenham Hotspur and clenches his fists. These fists played an important part in the German record champions' victory. Spurs had a number of clear-cut chances in the opening 30 minutes but Neuer pulled off some strong saves, particularly in his private battle with Heung-Min Son. The Germany goalkeeper got the better of the South Korean on three occassions and was beaten just once in the 15th minute.
"We had to survive some dicey situations, where Manuel showed his class," praised coach Niko Kovač. Later on he also denied Tanguy Ndombéle (26), Delle Alli (50) and Christian Eriksen (66) to maintain Bayern's advantage. Tottenham needed a penalty to finally beat the Bayern captain again. "Manu made a difference today," summarised Kovač.
