Martínez and Hernández subbed off with knocks

FC Bayern downed Olympiacos 3-2 on Tuesday night, sealing their third victory in three Champions League matches. However, two players had to be subbed off with knocks. Javi Martínez remained in the dressing room at half-time as a precaution, according to Niko Kovač: "Martínez had a muscular problem in the first half, we didn't want to take any risks, so we reacted."

Lucas Hernández' injury was Kovač' main headache. The defender had to be replaced before the hour mark. "Hernández has an ankle problem. We'll have to see whether his ligament is affected. He was in a lot of pain, so we had to take him off. It's very annoying," said the 48-year-old. Further examinations will reveal how severe the injury is. The same goes for Serge Gnabry, who "felt something," according to sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić, but the Germany international was able to play the full 90 minutes.
