Wednesday evening was special for Alphonso Davies. The 19-year-old Canadian made his debut on the European stage in FC Bayern's 2-0 Champions League victory over Olympiacos. After the matches against Union Berlin, Bochum and Frankfurt, Davies was a starter for the fourth time in a row.
92 touches, 58 percent tackles won and a pass completion rate of 88 percent confirm Davies' strong display on his CL debut. "He's very fast, he worked very hard in defence and closed down the space on the wing," commented coach Hansi Flick: "He can be bolder in attack. It's a learning process for him, we mustn't forget he's only 19." Flick declined to reveal whether Davies will be a starter in Saturday's Bundesliga top match against Borussia Dortmund.
