FC Bayern is mourning the death of Rudolf Schels, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 70. The entrepreneur from Regensburg has been a member of the German record champions' advisory board since 2009, acting as FC Bayern München eV vice-president from 2012 to 2016. In addition, Schels was a member of the FC Bayern München AG supervisory board from 2014 to 2016.
Rudolf Schels once said: "It's a great honour to serve this club. My love for FC Bayern could hardly be any greater." Thanks to his economic expertise, Schels played a major role in the development of the FC Bayern basketball section. He was responsible for the section's strategic focus and guidance as a member of the FC Bayern München eV committee. He had close ties to the other sections and the FC Bayern youth department. He enjoyed his activities there. Rudolf Schels made substantial contributions in this respect too.
