Hermann Gerland has been named assistant to interim Bayern coach Hansi Flick. Gerland, who has been the sporting director of the academy since 2017, has previously worked as an assistant coach under Jupp Heynckes, Louis van Gaal, Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola.
Hansi Flick: "Hermann is very experienced. He knows the team, he knows the processes, he knows FC Bayern as a whole. That's why I wanted to work with him."
