Flick: We were four goals better

FC Bayern downed Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in Saturday's Bundesliga cracker. The men from Munich shone in attack and were never in danger at the back. Head coach Hansi Flick was pleased with the performance: "We showed today we can celebrate football. We were four goals better over 90 minutes."

Reaction to Bayern v Dortmund

Uli Hoeneß: "It was a demonstration. Our team fought from the first to the last second. They din't let Dortmund get a grip. You can see Hansi Flick gets along well with the team. He always had good ties to the team as assistant coach, and the team delivered today. The two matches allow the leadership to think about it very calmly. I'm convinced we won't rush, and I think Hansi Flick will be the first person we talk to in the upcoming weeks."

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: "Hansi Flick said the two matches against Olympiacos and Dortmund would be a finish line. He crossed it with aplomb. We'll continue with him very calmly. It was an important match, also with regard to the situation in the table. Of course we're very satisfied after winning a match like this 4-0. The spectators had great fun watching it."

Hansi Flick: "We showed today we can celebrate football. We were four goals better over 90 minutes. I can only praise the team. We implmented exactly what we had planned. On Wednesday we showed we've made a lot of progress in defence. And today we defended by going on the attack too. We played the football the spectators want to see."

Thomas Müller: "Congratulations to the team. We've implemented the coach's demands well, we were bold. People talked about 'manly football' in the build-up to the match. It's always special when Borussia Dortmund come here. We were alert, we went for the one-on-ones and demonstrated after five or ten minutes we'd win the match."

Lucien Favre: "We must admit we went missing. It was a very poor performance. The way we played wasn't good enough. It's okay to lose here, but not like that."

Mats Hummels: "We were inferior almost throughout the match. We weren't bold enough and slack in terms of technique. I expected us to be much bolder than over the last few years here."
