FC Bayern downed Red Star Belgrade 6-0 on Tuesday, leaving no doubt as to who would win Group B. "We didn't want to allow anything today, we wanted to seal the group victory, and we achieved it in an impressive manner," Hansi Flick said after the final whistle. Bayern kept their fourth clean sheet in a row, shining at the back and up front. "We turned in an outstanding display. We were very strong in defence from the first minute and had a lot of chances," four-goal Robert Lewandowski added.
Reaction to Red Star Belgrade v FC Bayern
Hansi Flick: "We didn't want to allow anything today, we wanted to seal the group victory, and we achieved it in an impressive manner. We stifled our opponents' play. Everyone played well today. We had a good foundation at the back, and in attack we saw the team can play and celebrate football. I'm absolutely happy with my team's performance. We're enjoying our run."
Robert Lewandowski: "We turned in an outstanding display. We were very strong in defence from the first minute and had a lot of chances, we could have scored more goals. The main thing is that we had fun. No matter who's playing and no matter where, we stick to our plan. We go into every game wanting to win it. We kept up the pressure in the second half and scored more goals. We did what we set out to do."
Vladan Milojević (Red Star Belgrade coach): "It's a big disappointment. We must sleep on it and see from there. It was a deserved win for Bayern, they were better in all respects. They were very powerful, but I'm surprised at our lack of energy and passion. We were afraid."
Marko Marin (Red Star Belgrade): "Bayern are at a different level. We're glad to take part in the Champions League. Today's performance hurt. Bayern upped the pace compared to our match three weeks ago. They were very, very strong in attack, their counterpressing was very, very good. They won deservedly of course. We played without confidence, we got off to a bad start, we just chased the ball and defended over 90 minutes."
