Kingsley Coman has been given the all-clear: the winger, who left the field injured in the first half during the 3-1 Champions League victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday 11 December, has fortunately not been ruled out for an extended period. “Naturally, we were all extremely worried at first. But Kingsley is very lucky," said FC Bayern chief medical officer Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt. “Our tests have shown that he will only miss the next three games and will be back in time to join mid-season training in Doha.”
There were fears that the 23-year-old would be absent for a significant length of time, but he is only sidelined until the winter break. The Frenchman will miss matches against Werder Bremen, SC Freiburg and VfL Wolfsburg, but he will be back for the start of mid-season training, taking place in Doha, and beginning on 4 January. Before his substitution on Wednesday night, he had made a very strong start against the Londoners, opening the scoring to make it 1-0 in the 14th minute, among other bright spells.
