A special moment for a Bayern superfan

There was a truly special moment before kick-off in Bayern's Champions League home match against Tottenham. On the way from the bus to the changing rooms, Thiago, Robert Lewandowski and the other Bayern players walked past a robot that showed cancer patient Ledijon's hospital room on a screen, with the robot also establishing a direct connection to the hospital in Frankfurt via a microphone. The look on the young Bayern fan's face was priceless after his idols said hello to him and exchanged a few jokes with the young boy.

Robert Lewandowski also greeted Ledijon with a warm welcome.

In collaboration with the Éric Abidal Foundation, this unique event took place on Wednesday in the Allianz Arena. The AI robot, called Abi 22 - a name derived from the shirt number that the former French national player and cancer survivor wore during his career - gave Ledijon, who is bedbound due to illness, a special insight into Bayern's Champions League game in Munich. The players evidently enjoyed meeting the little boy, and the experience seemed to inspire Thiago & Co., with the side winning the match to secure a perfect record in the group.
